Tell me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is a case full of rather stiff inserts for collars on mens' shirts.
The well-dressed gentleman surely wouldn't want to go around with a limp collar.
It's a little before my time, as wash & wear came along in my lifetime, and these are way before that.
There's a little compartment on the top.
Originally I thought it was for cuff links, but I think maybe this is even before they were common.
I believe they are some kind of buttons for the cuffs though,
I'm guessing not many of these survived, so get it while you can.
Might be a nice dresser item if you're setting up an a bedroom full of antiques.
Has a tiny bit of fraying along a couple of edges, but overall is is nice condition, considering its age.
Check out my other auction for a lady's dresser set, with matching clock.
I make frequent trips to the Des Moines area and can meet with a buyer at some convenient location for the sales.
