Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical duties in a court setting, including filing, data entry, and record keeping.
- Assist with the preparation of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and subpoenas.
- Prepare and maintain court calendars and schedules.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records of fees collected.
- Provide administrative support to judges, attorneys, and other court personnel.
- Interact with the public and provide customer service in person, over the phone, and via email.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Skills:
- Proficient in word processing software (e.
g.
, Microsoft Word) for document creation and editing.
- Familiarity with legal drafting and formatting of legal documents.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Strong organizational skills to manage files, records, and documents.
- Knowledge of office procedures and equipment operation.
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Understanding of legal terminology and court processes.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a courteous and helpful manner.
Note: Paralegal certification or previous experience in a legal or clerical role is preferred but not required.
